We would like to introduce you to our “Dentist of the Month” blog series. We will be featuring questions straight from our members on everything you’ve ever wanted to know from a dentist. Our first dentist, Dr. Kadie Tabassian from Paces Dentistryin Atlanta, Georgia has provided really helpful answers to some dental health questions. Her office accepts over 10 discount dental plans and specializes in general and cosmetic dentistry.
Do Electric Toothbrushes Make A Difference?
Absolutely, electric toothbrushes prevent the wrong method of brushing which would cause tooth brush abrasion. They also stimulate and massage the gum tissue. Studies have shown that patients using electric toothbrushes instead of manual tooth brushes tend to brush for longer periods of time. Therefore, brushing with an electric toothbrush may lead to healthier gums and teeth.
How Often Should I Have My Teeth Cleaned?
Depending on your medical history and periodontal status, the time between cleanings will vary. Patients with problems such as gingivitis and periodontal disease should get their teeth cleaned every 3 months. In general, getting a cleaning once every 6 months is fine.
How Often Should I Brush, Floss & Rinse?
- Generally, you should brush 2 times a day – especially before bed-time and after breakfast. Note: I advise patients that if they cannot brush after meals to at least rinse with an antibacterial rinse or water after eating.
- Always rinse with antibacterial rinse 3 to 4 times a day.
- Floss at least once a day before bed-time. Try to go to bed with a clean mouth.
How Do You Foster A Dentist/Patient Relationship?
I’m a firm believer in always delivering the BEST CARE POSSIBLE and always EDUCATING the patients about their dental health. My staff and I think of each patient as “If this was a member of my family in the dental chair right now, how would we treat them?” and that is quality of the care each patient receives.
Why Do You Accept Discount Dental Plans?
I accept discount dental plans to build my practice and increase the number of patients we treat. Discount dental plans allow many patients to seek dental treatment they normally would not due to prices they feel they cannot afford.
