At a time when our shaky economy is challenging American companies’ charitable giving efforts, DentalPlans.com is finding creative ways to get involved and give back.
In the last year, the company and its employees in both Plantation, Florida, and Park Ridge, Illinois, have teamed up with several nonprofit organizations to help put a smile on more faces around the world.
Here are three ways DentalPlans.com is giving back:
- Operation Smile – DentalPlans.com teamed up with Operation Smile to provide free reconstructive surgery for children born with facial deformities, such as cleft lips and cleft palates. After one year of hard work, social media fundraisers and matching donations, DentalPlans.com reached its goal and donated $10,000 to heal the smiles of more than 40 children around the world.
- Children’s Memorial Hospital – A group of employees from DentalPlans.com signed up for the Chicago nonprofit’s Move For The Kids 5K Walk/Run earlier this year. The team donated more than $3,000 to benefit local pediatric hospitals in greatest need of funds.
- I Care I Cure – DentalPlans.com President Jennifer Stoll discovered the I Care I Cure Childhood Cancer Foundation through her family dentist, Dr. Peter Krimsky, whose wife is the president of the South Florida-based nonprofit. In 2012, DentalPlans.com put together a team for the I Care I Cure 5K Walk/Run and donated more than $5,000 to support the treatment of childhood cancer.
